10 ‘super goal’ alternatives for Puskás Award
What if xinmsn Sports disagrees with the nominees for FIFA’s goal of the year?

We disagree with FIFA’s picks for 2012’s best goal.
To be announced on Monday at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, the players in the running are Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao, Fenerbahçe’s Miroslav Stoch and third-time candidate Neymar (above) of Santos.
In our opinion, the latter’s slalom looked too similar to, and less impressive than, Ryan Giggs’ 1999 goal against Arsenal, while Falcao and Stoch hit volleys that are increasingly a dime a dozen in modern football.
Granted, a key criterion for selectors was the importance of the match the goal was scored in. But what if we reduce the weight of that point and prioritise, simply, the wow factor?
Here are our 10 best substitutes for the FIFA prize.
