Bepe is the most popular footballer in Indonesia, making his name in Southeast Asian football when he scored the only goal in the 2002 Tiger Cup semi-final against Malaysia. An excellent predator, he is top scorer for Indonesia with 37 goals and 82 caps. Bepe has played in Holland and Malaysia, and in his first season with Selangor, won the domestic treble, becoming the league's top-scorer with 23 goals in 24 matches.
