The Cleveland Cavaliers chose Canadian Andrew Wiggins with the first overall pick in the National Basketball Association entry draft.

Wiggins, of Toronto, is the son of ex-NBA player Mitchell Wiggins and former Canadian Olympic sprinter Marita Payne.

The Cavaliers picked number one for the second consecutive year after winning last month's draft lottery as a longshot.

Forward Jabari Parker went to the Milwaukee Bucks with the number two pick, while the Philadelphia 76ers took centre Joel Embiid third overall.
