Badminton: S’pore shuttler crashes out of Singapore Open

SINGAPORE: In the Li—Ning Singapore Open, home favourite Xing Aiying crashed out after losing the women’s singles semi—final.
It was a thrilling first game between Xing and fourth seed Taiwanese Cheng Shao—chieh.
But the Singaporean eventually squandered two game points to surrender the first game to Cheng.
The world number 13 shuttler then dominated the second game to win 23—21, 21—7 in just 31 minutes.
Cheng will meet Germany’s Juliane Schenk in her first—ever Super Series final on Sunday.
