SINGAPORE: Singapore badminton coach Luan Ching said that his team will do their best at the Li—Ning Singapore Open on 19 June.

Singapore shuttlers Gu Juan, Fu Mingtian, Derek Wong, Yao Lei and Shinta Mulia Sari will be taking part in the competition.

Apart from Fu, this will be the last tournament for the rest before next month’s London Olympics.

Coach Luan Ching said that women singles’ shuttler Gu Juan has the toughest draw next week.

But added that favourites China are not guaranteed a win.

Separately, men’s singles player Derek Wong hopes to improve on his record.

Wong said: "I have been in the qualifying rounds for the Singapore Open for the past few years. So now I am hoping to qualify for the main draw, probably I can go even further."
