Football: Malaysia’s ATM hold LionsXII to 1—1 draw

SINGAPORE: Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) held Lions XII to a 1—1 draw in a Malaysia Cup first leg semi—final match at Jalan Besar Stadium on Friday night.
ATM’s away goal will come in handy when it host the second leg semi—final match at Selayang Municipal Council Stadium on October 11.
Both teams failed to score in the first half.
After the break, ATM broke the deadlock when Marlon Alex James connected a long pass from K. Reuben to score in the 54th minute.
Marlon Alex James missed a chance to score another goal when his attempt in the 72nd minute went over the crossbar of the goalpost.
ATM’s lead was cancelled when Lions XII equalised to make it 1—1 via a headed goal by Safuwan Baharudin in the 80th minute.
