SINGAPORE: Princess Superal of the Philippines has won the Singapore Amateur Ladies Open at the Laguna National Golf & Country Club.
The 16-year-old was in top form as she built on her three-shot overnight lead on the final day of competition on Thursday.
Her 71 and overall 209 gave her a four-shot runaway victory.
At the very start of play, Superal birdied the par 4, first - with a stunning putt.
The young Filipina has no intentions of turning pro till she's 19.
At the turn, she was on a minus 8 - some five strokes ahead of the chasing pack.
The hard-hitting Australian Ashley Ona tried to make an early challenge but she faded and finished fourth on a 73 for an overall 215th.
Two Malaysians slugged it out for second place - Kelly Tan even capturing a hole-in-one on the par 3.
But a double bogey on the very next hole and a further three bogeys meant she carded a 72 and 214 total, and ended up in third place.
Just a stroke better was runner-up Michelle Koh. She also finished on an even par 72 but a 213 overall. - CNA/de
