Rugby: NZ’s Northland top Pool A in SCC Rugby Sevens tournament

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Cricket Club is hosting its 65th International Rugby Sevens competition, the region’s oldest club event.
This year, 20 international clubs from 13 countries are taking part in the competition being held at the Padang.
One of the favourites in the competition, Northland from New Zealand, took on the Western Province Rugby Institute of South Africa in Pool A on Saturday and outclassed them 24—15 to top the group with nine points.
Singapore side SCC 7s had it tough though, losing 22—17 to Australia’s East Arnhem in Pool D.
The finals will be played on Sunday evening.
