SINGAPORE: Singaporean swimmer Tao Li will be making her second Olympic appearance at the London Games later this month.
The 22—year—old admits there is added pressure to perform better this time round but remains optimistic of her medal chances.
Tao’s current personal best time for the 100 metre butterfly event is 59 seconds.
At the last Olympics in Beijing, she finished fifth in a time of 57.99 seconds — that’s 1.38 seconds off the Olympic record.
The butterfly specialist said she still needs to fine—tune her technique but will be ready for the Summer Games.
"My dream and my goal is to finish 3rd or better, but then you know everything can happen in the Olympics. You can’t really dictate what happens there, so I just hope my dream can come true, but if not, I’ll try my best," she said.
