Table Tennis: STTA confirms Wang Yuegu’s retirement

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Table Tennis Association has confirmed that national player Wang Yuegu will retire from the sport.
The association’s President Lee Bee Wah said Wang informed her manager of her retirement verbally on August 13 and subsequently submitted a letter on 24 August.
Dr Lee would not comment who would replace Wang or if the other senior player, Li Jiawei, is also stepping down from the national team.
Dr Lee said everyone in the national team stands a chance.
She said the association will select the best three players for 2016, depending on their world ranking.
Wang was part of the bronze medal winning team at the recent London Olympics.
