Arsenal sign Real's Ozil for record fee - club
Arsenal on Monday announced that they have signed Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for a club-record fee.
"German international midfielder Mesut Ozil has joined Arsenal on a long-term contract in a club-record deal," read a statement on the Arsenal website.
"Ozil, 24, joins Arsenal from Real Madrid, where he made a total of 159 appearances in three years. During that time he won both La Liga and the Copa del Rey."
Arsenal did not disclose how much they had paid to sign Ozil, but British media reports said the deal was worth �42.4 million ($66 million, 50 million euros).
