End of season for injured Juan Jesus
Inter Milan defender Juan Jesus will be ruled out for the rest of the season after the Serie A giants confirmed the Brazilian has suffered a ruptured knee ligament.
Juan was forced off halfway through the first half of Inter's 2-2 draw at home with Bologna on Saturday following a clash with Lazaros Christodoulopoulos.
The Brazilian hobbled off and after returning to try and play on was eventually replaced by veteran Walter Samuel.
Juan underwent tests on Sunday and Inter later announced: "Juan Jesus underwent diagnostic procedures this morning after being forced off the pitch in the 28th minute of last night's match against Bologna.
"The examinations revealed a complete rupture of the medial collateral ligament in the defender's right knee."
Argentine striker Diego Milito missed a late penalty as Inter Milan's Europa League hopes were kept in check by the draw.
Inter, who have now failed to win in their last four league outings, remain fifth but are only two points ahead of Europa League chasers Lazio with six games remaining.
