The 94-time capped Spain international suffered bruising on his left knee during Barca's 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid on January 11, and has since missed two La Liga two King's Cup matches.

"We have seen Andres through his rehabilitation," coach Gerardo Martino said Tuesday, 24 hours ahead of the quarter-final second leg fixture against Levante, Barca having won the first leg 4-1.

"He needs to have some game time because his injury lasted a little longer than expected.

"Two weeks have passed since the match against Atletico Madrid and it seemed to us a good time and a good match to allow him to come back into the team."

His return from injury will allow Martino to rest much-used midfielder Xavi, with Sergio Busquets and Brazilian full-back Dani Alves also given the night off.
