Jones has head scan after suffering concussion
Manchester United manager David Moyes revealed England defender Phil Jones needed a head scan after suffering a concussion in his side's 2-1 defeat against Stoke on Saturday.
Jones accidently slammed his head into Stoke City forward Jonathan Walters during a challenge late in the first half and suffered another blow to the head as he landed awkwardly after the collision.
The 21-year-old lay unconscious and needed several minutes' treatment on the Britannia Stadium pitch before being stretchered off.
Jones, who joined United from Blackburn in 2011, was then taken to a local hospital, where scans revealed he had not suffered any serious damage.
"Phil Jones had concussion but he is okay thankfully. He has had a head scan and there are no problems," Moyes said.
"You could see it was a fierce clash but completely accidental on both players' behalf.
"Phil hit the ground with his head and that was probably it - you can tell sometimes when they are not right."
