Lazio sack Petkovic, bring back Reja
Serie A club Lazio announced on Saturday that they had fired coach Vladimir Petkovic and replaced him with former boss Edy Reja.
In a statement, the capital club revealed they had parted companty with the entire management team, saying: "Lazio announce that they have rescinded the contract of Vladimir Petkovic, Antonio Manicone and Paolo Rongoni.
"The club has installed coach Edoardo Reja, who will be assisted by Alberto Bollini and Adriano Bianchini."
Petkovic had been under pressure after a disappointing start to his second season with the Biancocelesti, and Lazio president Claudio Lotitio was also reportedly annoyed that he had agreed to take over as coach of Switzerland as of July.
However, despite rumours that Reja had taken over training after Christmas, Petkovic insisted on Friday that he was still the coach -- leaving fans confused as to who was in charge.
Reja was previously in charge of Lazio between 2010 and 2012.
Lazio are currently 10th in the Serie A table ahead of their opening game of 2014, at home to Inter Milan on Monday.
