Simeone's men just need to avoid defeat in their final two league games against Malaga and away to Barcelona on the final weekend of the season to seal their first title for 18 years.

Costa was diagnosed with a slight hamstring injury after failing to train with his team-mates on Friday, but returned to training on Saturday and could feature even if it does pose a risk to his participation against Barcelona and Real Madrid in the Champions League final in two weeks time.

"He is better, he felt more comfortable today and tomorrow morning we will give him a fitness test," Simeone said on Saturday.

"We will see what condition he is in and decide then."

Despite losing for the first time in 15 games away to Levante last weekend, Atletico remain favourites to round off a spectacular season in style as they haven't been beaten at home in the league this season, nor have they tasted defeat in five meetings with Barcelona over the campaign.

However, Simeone insisted his side wouldn't crumble under the pressure having been seen as underdogs for the majority of the season.

"There isn't pressure, just responsibility. Obviously this is a great time for all Atletico fans, players and coaches.

"All those who work in football aspire to get to the situation we are in now. We will take it as it comes and continue working to try and do things as best we can."

Central defender Diego Godin will definitely be missing for Atletico on Sunday as he is suspended, but Juanfran returns after missing the defeat at Levante due to suspension himself so Toby Alderweireld will move back into the heart of the defence to make way for the Spanish international.
