"We have agreed terms today with Thomas Doll," a statement on the club website announced late Wednesday.

Doll, 46, played 18 times for Germany, and previously coached Hamburg -- where he was named German football's Man of the Year in 2005 for reviving the club's fortunes -- and Borussia Dortmund.

Ferencvaros, who last won the Hungarian title in 2004, are joint fifth with 27 points from 17 games, 10 points behind leaders Debreceni VSC at the halfway stage of the season.

"Our goal is to bring success again to Ferencvaros," Doll told the website.
