F1's Esteban Gutierrez got his hands and feet dirty in a model car workshop and football clinic with the kids, who were competing to win access to a Sauber garage tour
The 48 kids from Henderson Secondary School and Chelsea FC Soccer School Singapore, aged 11 to 14, designed, engineered and built balsa wood model cars to compete in a drag race. On hand to guide them were members of Sauber, including driver Gutierrez and Alex Sauber, son of team founder Peter.
Later, Gutierrez, who has not scored any points this F1 season, joined the booted up youths and Chelsea’s mascot Stamford for a kickabout on the field.
