Gay was banned after testing positive for a banned anabolic steroid in two out-of-competition tests.

His ban, which was reduced from two years by the United States Anti-Doping Agency due to Gay's co-operation, ends on June 23.

"Athletissima has always been one of my favourite meets and I'm delighted to be making my comeback in Lausanne," said Gay.

Gay will come up against US rival Justin Gatlin, the world championship silver-medallist from last year who has the fastest 100m time this year of 9.87sec.

Gay was a triple world champion in 2007 -- over 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay -- and is the second fastest man of all time over 100m behind Jamaican legend Usain Bolt.
