Greipel sidelined from spring classics
Germany's Andre Greipel celebrates as he crosses the finish line at the end of the sixth stage of the 100th edition of the Tour de France cycling race between Aix-en-Provence and Montpellier on July 4, 2013 - by Jeff Pachoud
Greipel, 31, picked up the injury after falling eight kilometres from the finish line as he was challenging for Sunday's Gent-Wevelgem classic in Belgium.
"It's a tough blow for Andre and for the team," said Lotto manager Marc Sergeant.
"He was our ticket for several races. In the Tour of Flanders and the Paris-Roubaix he could have done great support work for the team."
The Gent-Wevelgem was the second in the eight-race spring classics series.
