Latvala shades Ogier in Rally of Argentina victory push
French driver Sebastien Ogier steers his Volkswagen Polo R WRC with his co-driver Julien Ingrassia during the 6th stage of the WRC Argentina 2014 near Las Bajadas, Cordoba, Argentina on May 10, 2014 - by Diego Lima
Despite a spin and heavy fog, Latvala kept Ogier at bay after four of the day's stages with the Citroen DS3 of Britain's Kris Meeke holding third place, but 3min 40sec off the searing pace of the lead Volkswagen.
Latvala has won five of the race's nine stages so far with two more to be contested later Saturday.
"It's been one of my best performances. A day like this when everything goes right, it's a super sensation," said the Finn.
So far this season, Latvala has won the Rally of Sweden but Ogier has been the man to beat, having won in Monte Carlo, Mexico and Portugal.
Ogier leads the championship with 91 points from Latvala on 62.
"Latvala is going to be very hard to catch. I don't want to take risks. If the title was at stake, then I would take more risks," said Ogier.
