Floyd Mayweather Jr. claimed his 44th consecutive victory with an unanimous points defeat of Robert Guerrero at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The fight marked Mayweather's return to the ring after serving a brief jail sentence for attacking his ex-girlfriend.

In his absence, Guerrero had been named WBC interim welterweight champion, a title the 36-year-old Mayweather comfortably reclaimed with a 117-111 victory awarded by all the judges and earned a payday of more than $38 million.

The defeat was the second in the 33 fight professional career of Guerrero, 30, but he can have no complaints after clearly losing out in the punches tally and being hit by some huge blows in the fifth and eighth rounds.
