Baseball's steroid shame
SB/KEYSTONE USA/Rex FeaturesShow Thumbnails
Armstrong isn't the only athlete whose drug history is still a touchy subject. Voters for baseball's Hall of Fame recently rejected homerun king Barry Bonds and pitching legend Roger Clemens because of serious steroid allegations. Bonds was found guilty of obstruction of justice for his role in the BALCO drug scandal, while Clemens was acquitted of charges that he lied to the U.S. congress about using performance enhancing drugs. And they're just two of the too many stars of the diamond — from Mark McGwire and Rafael Palmiero to Jose Canseco and Alex Rodriguez — who've been stained with the shame of steroids.
