Paying tribute to Marco Simoncelli

Members of the MotoGP community remembered the tragic death of Honda rider Marco Simoncelli who crashed at the Grand Prix at Sepang, Malaysia. Riders, team managers and technicians, and fans all paid tribute to the Italian rider, who was only 24 at the date of his death.

HOW IT HAPPENED
During the second lap, Simoncelli - who had been in fourth position - collided with Yamaha rider Colin Edwards and Ducati rider Valentino Rossi at turn 11 of the circuit after losing control of his bike. Simoncelli received severe injuries to his head, neck and chest, requiring immediate medical assistance and CPR. The Malaysian MotoGP was immediately cancelled. One hour after his injury, he was announced dead.
