Feng, you are fantastic! Ignore those narrow minded netizens. The very moment you choose to play for Singapore, you are one of us.  Well done!

Yes she was originally from China but now she is singaporean and she did us proud by winning a bronze medal. Let's give credit where credit's due ok? She put in her best effort to play for Singapore. How many locally born singaporeans will be willing to put in as much effort to fight for singapore? She could have just gone out there and gave a half hearted performance but she never gave up even when she was trailing the world number 1 by 2 games. Some of us would have shat in our pants and gave up if we were in her shoes. So let's be reasonable and congratulate her. Well done Tian Wei!

For many who are critical of Singapore haivng Chinese sportsman and woman. come on, Tianwei developed her table tennis skills when she was playing for Singapore for many years. It is not like she came just yesterday and wins for us. Birth right alione does not made us mo****porean than someone who has spent a large and best part of her sporting career playing for Singapore. Let's be appreciative of these constructive Chinese who have made Singapore their home. Tianwei could have gone to US or many other countries and they would gladly take her. In case anyone still envious of the highly motivated Chinese, like the Americans who suggested doping when Ye Shiwen won spectacularly in swimming China is going to be a superpower in many areas including space technologies and beauty contests and there is nothing anyone can do about it than to live with it and give them proper respoect and admiration and learn from them. Incidentally my forefathers are also from China and I am proud of that.

Sammy curry.... .very true of ur statements..... wat's wrong with having a foreign sportsman/ sportswoman representing our country when there's no one else who's willing to make the huge sacrifices as a national team player? C'mon s'poreans, Tianwei's spent a considerable amount of time in our country and every medal or accolade she's won, she does it with the pride we have as a S'porean. Tianwei, u're our pride & glory and we'll be right behind you with every competition u face.... I'm proud of YOU..... cheers

Maybe they should close down the sports school after all.Why invest so much money on sports education, building a sports school puuting in extra hours  juz to organise an inter schools ,giving false hope to these kids and their parents that there is a future for sports so that they can one day make their parents and singapore proud by representing our  country.Thay called it grooming, hmmz waste of time .. just buy talent that'll be a better choice.

My a China Born Singaporean who won a medal for Singapore.

But First of all Congratulation Ms. Feng Tianwei. I am sure that you did your best to get the

Bronze Medal... Well done, and good for you....for your effort. does not matter which country you came from, well done with you...

But for the Singaporean, its shameful that we have to buy these talents to get some form of medals...recognition of olympic glory...etcs etcs etcs...

if these sportsman dont do well, they are stripped of their citizenship... and sent back to where they came from.....

but unfortunately, that is singapore for you.... always think they can buy talent.... hey where is Ronald Susilo - originally from Indonesia??? i have not heard of him playing in this olympic???

But to the athelics that compete and win, good job for your effort.... even if you are foreign born....

it is your effort that count and not the country that endorses you......
