Lance had a good run, stretching his Person-of-the-Week dollar, by stepping down from a $470-million charity and getting the boot from his many sponsors.

Elsewhere, someone forgot to shut the roof at a top football match, causing a rain postponement – that deserves some accolade. Serbian and English teens also came together, literally, for a shot to be our Persons of the Week.

But, we reckon, it’s time for some positivity again, and who better to provide that than one of contact sport’s most genuine and respected individuals.

Tomorrow, rugby hooker Keven Mealamu will win his 100th international cap, for the most mythical of sports teams – the New Zealand All Blacks.

Lining up against arch rivals Australia, the well-loved 33-year-old will join captain Richie McCaw and Mils Muliaina as the only men in black to have won a century of appearances.
