Two-time MVP's assist milestone does it for us
Too much Lionel Messi for us at xinmsn Sports the past few months, therefore in a week the superhuman Argentinian was made the most decorated footballer in history, we wish to shine our spotlight on another athlete similarly considered undersized in his sport.
With 10 dimes on Tuesday against the Houston Rockets, Steve Nash became only the fifth basketballer in NBA history to reach 10,000 assists.
Sadly, his Los Angeles Lakers lost 112 to 125, a disturbingly recurring result this season. The purple and gold franchise have lost five straight and as a whole are a poor .429 currently.
"It's really hard to enjoy it right now," the naturalized Canadian commented. "I don't want to discredit it or not appreciate the company I share in this milestone, but right now it's the farthest thing from my mind.
"We're just trying to find a way to win one game."
Nash’s feat also squeezed out our other contenders – Lleyton Hewitt’s continued comeback and the fourth-tier Bradford’s huge upset of Aston Villa.
