Liverpool coach comments on number of foreigners in the Premier League, while his opposite number thought his charges could and should have scored more

Liverpool suffered the same fate as rivals Manchester United when their U19s were blown away by a dazzling Sporting Lisbon in the NexLions Cup final this evening.

The Portuguese teenagers scored in the first and last minutes of the second half through Luka Stojanovic and Luis Cortez to win the tournament’s inaugural edition.

After the match, Liverpool coach Alex Inglethorpe gave credit to whom he called “the better team” and the “deserving” winners, although for his own players he had a more sobering lesson.
