The London crowd gained a new hero in the form of local boy David Weir, who dominated the field in the T54 distance wheelchair racing, storming to three gold medals in the 5000m, 1500m and 800m. The 'Weirwolf’s'’ (as he became known) successive victories in front of a roaring Olympic Stadium  went down among Great British supporters as one of the main highlights of not just the Paralympics, but the London 2012 Games as a whole. And he wasn't even finished. His almost superhuman levels of fitness saw him claim a fourth gold medal in the marathon on Sunday - Great Britain's final gold medal of an incredible summer.
