So it came as somewhat of a surprise when Ng defeated more experienced MMA opponents in his first few fights in the UK. In 2011, he was invited to join the Evolve team in Singapore and decided to make the move here because it offered instruction in “four disciplines under one roof”.

“Here, I have the best instructors in the world,” adds Ng, who is clearly loyal to his teammates and coaches at the Evolve gym on China Street.
