“In MMA, you have to be well rounded, you have to be competent in all the four disciplines (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling and Boxing),” says Ng.

“Focusing on only one technique becomes a problem. When you’re obsessed with it, it becomes a hindrance. You’re always looking for that move, and you don’t see the rest…

“It’s only a question of how long before people notice (that you’re only using one technique). They’ll think that this guy only tries to KO… so what happens if I try to take the guy down?

“Those fighters who only use one technique, maybe they win a few fights, but they don’t last too long,” he adds.
