Ben Askren proves why he is considered the best welterweight in the world, while Vincent Latoel moves up the lightweight rankings after emerging victorious over Eddie Ng
One Fighting Championship (One FC) returned to Singapore on 30 May at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, as Ben Askren made his One FC debut in successful fashion.
“Honor & Glory”, the second of two events in May, saw Askren prove why he is considered the best welterweight in the world by defeating Bakhtiyar Abbasov with an arm-triangle submission before the first round was over.
Meanwhile, the co-main event saw Dutchman Vicent Latoel's climb up the lightweight rankings gather momentum after he caught his opponent, the up-and-coming Eddie Ng from Hong Kong, with a right punch that knocked the latter out.
However, it was mixed results for Singapore’s representatives. Radeem Rahman became the only Singaporean to achieve two wins in One FC after beating Malaysia’s Raymond Tan, while Stephen Langdown succumbed to a rear naked choke to American Casey Suire less than four minutes into the first round.
