Singapore's Royston Wee extends his undefeated run, while Michael Bisping beats Cung Le in the middleweight main event clash
Singapore’s first-ever Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) representative Royston Wee remained undefeated to stretch his winning streak to 4-0 against China’s Yao Zhikui at the UFC Fight Night Macao event on 23 Aug.
The 7,000 strong crowd at The Venetian Macao was also treated to a middleweight main event clash as Number 8-ranked Michael Bisping beat former Strikeforce champion and Hollywood actor Cung Le by TKO after a grueling four rounds.
Elsewhere, the co-main event saw Number 4-ranked welterweight Tyron Woodley defeat Number 9-ranked Dong Hyun Kim by TKO in the first round.
There was more drama and excitement in the six-bout preliminary card that showcased UFC’s first-ever women’s fight in Asia as Russia’s Milana Dudieva overcame her American opponent Elizabeth Phillips via split-decision after three rounds.
Spectators to the event also had more reason to cheer as undefeated UFC bantamweight champion and newly-minted Hollywood actress Ronda Rousey mingled with the crowd, freely posing for pictures with them.
