Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by two runs in the first Twenty20 international in Chittagong on Wednesday to take the lead in the two-match series.

Sri Lanka, who made 168-7 after being sent in to bat, hit back to restrict Bangladesh to 166-7 in a thrilling finish at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium. 

The second match will also be played in Chittagong on Friday.
