Where will you go, and when will you be back?

Because there isn't going to be any kind of medical support along the way, or anyone to notice if you've been caught in a massive thunderstorm and taking shelter in a bus stop, it's probably a good idea if you tell someone at home which routes you'll be taking, and how long you'll be gone for. This doesn't mean you'll have to limit yourself to certain routes or how long you'll be out for.

Rough estimates work fine. "I'll be running around East Coast Park. Shouldn't take more than an hour". That'll spare you the trouble of having to take a phone with you that'll only slow you down by bobbing about in your pockets when you stride.
