AFP / xinmsn – What some strikers struggle to do in a year, Robin van Persie has pulled off in two weeks.

We’re talking about his hat-trick against Southampton, in one of his first matches for new side Manchester United.

The feat was all the more dramatic because it was done in stoppage time, delivering a 3-2 win for the Red Devils.

Van Persie also scored in the match against Fulham, which Man U won 3-2. But he missed out in their 1-0 loss to Everton.

Van Persie's transfer, which is believed to have cost United around £24 million ($37 million), is a significant coup for United boss Sir Alex Ferguson after he persuaded van Persie to snub an offer from Premier League champions Manchester City in a favour of a move to Old Trafford.
