The 54-hole event was halted by severe storms on Saturday with 72 players unable to finish their second round.

Wie, the US former child prodigy from Hawaii, is trying to win back-to-back titles for the first time in her career after her breakthrough victory last week at Pinehurst.

She fired her second consecutive five-under-par 66 on Saturday to stand at 10-under 132 after 36 holes, two strokes ahead of South Korean Ryu So-Yeon.

Americans Cristie Kerr and Angela Stanford fared  best of Sunday's finishers, each standing on 135 along with South Korean Chella Choi and Norway's Suzann Pettersen.

Kerr shot 66 and Stanford 67 in the second round.

World number one Stacy Lewis, fellow-American Mina Harigae and South Korean Lee Mi-Hyang finished Saturday on 136.

They were joined at six-under by Sunday finishers Line Vedel of Denmark with a 68, American Gerina Piller and South Korean Oh Ji-Young with second-round 69s and Mexico's Alejandra Llaneza, who completed a second-round 70 Sunday morning.
