Group A winner: Brazil

Round of 16 opponents: Chile

The hosts failed to impress in their first two matches, but started to look good in their final group match, a 4-1 win over Cameroon and Neymar has scored four goals so far.

Round of 16 opponents: Netherlands

Mexico secured a place in the last 16 with a 3-1 defeat of rivals Croatia in their final group stage fixture and have only conceded one goal so far.

The Netherlands are the tournament’s top scorers so far with 10 goals – half of which came in their 5-1 opening fixture defeat of reigning champions Spain.

Costa Rica have made the last 16 of the World Cup for the first time since 1990, conceding just one goal in the process and remaining undefeated.

The US survived a 1-0 loss to Germany in the last match to go through on goal difference ahead of Portugal. They face a tough match against Belgium in the Round of 16.
